Steering group meeting postponed and AGM reminder

The Steering Group meeting today is postponed until next week and I thought I’d take the chance to remind you again about our AGM! If you’d like to be more involved in running Transition Town Reading please let us know and come along to the AGM. Note all other events in May are unchanged (Repair Cafe and website meeting).

Steering Group Meeting postponed to Monday 12 May, 7:30pm, Great Expectations Pub

Business meeting where we look at our communications, review finances and funding and looking at how we can be more effective as a group. We don’t really look at specific projects in this meeting, so not the most interesting for first timers. Targeted at steering group members but open to everyone.

Transition Town Reading AGM and Shared Meal: Wednesday 21 May, 7:30pm at RISC, Room 3 (stones room)

At the AGM, we will have a review of what has happened over the past year and how we are doing financially as well as discuss any changes that we would like to see happen within TTR in the future.
If you have any suggestions of things you would like to discuss, please email We will provide a full agenda with any discussion items next week.
ALSO, at the AGM, we will be electing the new steering group!
The positions are:
Coordinator (chair)
Plus non-portfolio officers who will support the above roles or can be allocated specific roles as required.
If you would like to stand for one of these positions or find out more, please reply to this email.

Possibly even more importantly than this, Wednesday 21 May will also be a chance for everyone involved in and interested in Transition to get together, share food (please bring a dish!), play some music if you are that way inclined and just catch up.
We will aim to keep the AGM business as short as possible then enjoy a relaxed evening together. New people also very welcome – if not keen on joining the AGM business, please come along from 8ish onwards.
